Morrissey er endelig tilbake etter år med krangling og idétørke. Forventingene til den tidligere The Smiths-vokalistens første album på sju år er derfor skyhøye. Mai er også måneden for tre store – og nokså forskjellige – kvinnelige artister, nemlig Avril Lavigne, Alanais Morrissette og ikke minst PJ Harvey.

På norskfronten noterer vi oss nye plater med blant annet Stage Dolls, Euroboys, Lars Horntveth og Kim Hiorthøy. Denne listen tar ikke med så mye av det som kommer av retroutgivelser, men Jaga Jazzist’ debutplate Magazine må nevnes.
